SAFETY
Educating the public on non-invasive brain stimulation is one of our core missions. We strive to inform any potential customer on the safety of tDCS to bring you the next generation of wellness wearables.

THE BRAIN IS ELECTRIC
The average human brain is made up of approximately 100 billion neurons and an even more unimaginable amount of neural synapses. All these neurons are constantly communicating with each other through neurotransmitters released into synapses by electrical impulses.
Our brains are therefore electrically powered organs, which is why using an external electrical current to influence cerebral activity is logical, and completely safe as long as the electrical current that is used isn’t strong enough to damage the skin or brain. By using low levels electricity, we are speaking to the brain directly in a language it understands rather than flooding the entire bloodstream with chemicals the way drugs do.
Designed for safety
Our technology delivers the same levels of electricity as the currents present in our brains at any time. The Cogna Headband's electrical current always oscillates under 2 milliamps which researchers have established as a safety limit. By order of comparison, this current level is similar to what is delivered by fitness muscle stimulators.

The Cogna Headband’s voltage and amperage output, as well as the resistance and current density of our electrodes and a plethora of other safety variables are continuously controlled by our hardware to ensure that no serious harm can ever be caused to users. Even if a faulty device was to exceed an electrical safety limit, the Cogna Headband is equipped with multiple safety mechanisms that would shut it down immediately and notify our team.
